Ze Art of Debating

No matter what some people say, debating is an art! Sure it is a dying art but an art all ze same. It requires concentration, wits, patience, emotions, and coffee, lots and lots of coffee. I mean how can you do ze research late into ze long night without some cups of coffee? You can't, that's what! Anyways, ze idea of debating is that two teams are arguing over two sides of an idea. Ze teams usually pick ze sides Affirmative or Negative. For example, one team is arguing I should use my German accent, while ze other side says ze accent is a bit too much. I agree with ze first team. Some teams have ze easier side, for example, is Justin Bieber's music good? Ze side arguing Negative obviously has a huge advantage. When this situation happens the judges judge ze team with the easier side more harshly. A debate is very organized, starting with opening arguments, breaks, rebuttals, then open floor. Open floor is when ze real argument happens. My class is doing debates right now and we will have to do lots of research, ze co-op may run out of coffee. So that is how ze art known as debating works. Hopefully there will not be a debate in ze comments about ze German accent I use!

Chickens

It's my dad's birthday today and we are getting him chickens! We are getting them on the 14th. We will get eggs from them. It's going to be fun! They will be so cute. We are getting a lot of them. Like 20.  They will be tiny and yellow. We will have to look after them because we are getting them right after they're born. We used to have chickens two years ago and their eggs were really good. I can't wait till we get them! It's going to be so fun! It is going to be a little hard but fun too.

School is almost done

In two months school will be done. I am sooo excited but there is also a final project and an exam. We do the final project in ela and the exam in math. Last year we had two exams but i would rather have a project then an exam.I hope that I do really well on them.I am also really excited to go to high school because then we only have four more years until we graduate! At the end of the year we graduate from grade 8. It is obviously not as big as the grade 12 but it will still be fun. I am very excited for the summer because we will be going camping and maybe going to BC. Some of my moms family lives there. We have went there before for spring break before and it was awesome! That is why i am excite to get out of grade 8.

Badminton Season!

This year I am playing doubles with Carmen. Our coaches are Mr.Wilson and Mr.Kalynuk, they are really good coaches and they teach us a lot about the sport. We have had a really good year so far! We have had two tournaments so far and our divisionals is being held tomorrow in VIrden. Both VJH and VCI are going to be used. Carmen and I are at VJH. I think we have a good chance on doing well ! Badminton isnt just about winning its also really fun with all your friends too. I am excited for tomorrow and i am going to be sad that its over. Badminton is one of my favorite sports and I hope to keep playing it.

Volleyball Provincials

Two weeks ago, our volleyball club team had 14u Provincials in Winnipeg. We placed 8th out of 33 teams. We could have placed better but we did not play very well in the games that really mattered for us. We played around 9 games in the two days that we were there and beat some teams but lost to some as well. We had a great season and were the only team from Western Manitoba to place in the top 8 teams. We were all very proud even though we know we could have done better.

Provincials baby!!

This year we went to 14u  Provincials in Winnipeg. Our whole team played about 9 games in total for the whole weekend. We played very well and ended up 8th out of 33 teams. We did amazing!!! The best part was that we were the only team in Western Manitoba that placed in the top 8. I cant wait till next year so that i can play with my amazing team again!!

Calgary Flames V.S Winnipeg Jets

In Febuary the Winnipeg Jets visited the Calgary Flames at Calgary. The Flames got a early 3-0 lead at the beginning of the game but still they yet held on to there lead to win the game 5-3. It was a good game but the best team ended up winning. I am kind of glad that the Calgary Flames won the game or else Mr. Oldcorn would still be bragging about it to me. The Calgary Flames have been my favorite team ever since I started watching hockey witch was a long time ago. I will always be a Calgary Flames fan until I am to old to watch hockey witch will be in a long time.
